About us
At CAREQUILTS, we believe that comfort is more than just a feeling — it's something you can hold in your hands. Founded on the simple idea that small acts of kindness can make a big difference, CAREQUILTS is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating and delivering handmade quilts to people facing difficult life circumstances — whether due to illness, grief, trauma, or crisis.
Each quilt we give is a symbol of care and community. Stitched by volunteers from all walks of life, every quilt is made with love, intention, and hope. We serve children, adults, and families who need to be reminded that they are not alone — that someone, somewhere, is thinking of them and rooting for them.
But CAREQUILTS is about more than just the quilts. It’s about connection. Our work brings together volunteers, donors, and recipients in a shared circle of empathy and humanity. Through quilting, we create a compassionate community — one thread at a time.
What We Do:
-
Provide comfort quilts to individuals in hospitals, shelters, hospice care, and other places of need.
-
Engage volunteers in meaningful, creative service that fosters personal connection and community spirit.
-
Educate and empower people of all skill levels to contribute to a cause that warms both hearts and homes.
Who We Serve:
Our quilts go to people of all ages and backgrounds — from children in foster care to veterans, cancer patients, and individuals recovering from trauma. If someone needs a reminder that they are loved and supported, we want to be there.
